CERT LOGO

St. Martin’s is on the front lines of disaster preparedness by being a CERT Training facility. We are blessed to have many first responders – firefighters, police, EMT – as members of our congregation who along with church members saw the need for a base of operations in our rural community in case of a disaster.  With the help of the Cedar Hill Fire Department, we have held CERT Training courses over the past few years and plans are in the making for continued classes. The goal of all CERT teams is to help the greatest number of people in the shortest amount of time. Cedar Hill CERT is working on a training schedule to include training for new volunteers in our community and advanced training between our group and other organizations. Suggested training sessions may include basic medical procedures, CPR—adult & infant, map reading and coordination, rope tying, basic survival skills, and a pandemic flu seminar with training. To find out more about CERT Training in your area contact your local Fire Department for information.
