Church Leadership

Pastor Scott

Rev. Scott Lohse was called to be the Senior Pastor of St. Martin's in October 2005. Pastor Scott was ordained as a United Methodist Elder in June of 1984 and served congregations in the Missouri towns of Jonesburg, Kennett, Imperial, Manchester, Bonne Terre, Jackson, and Creve Coeur. He took some time away from the ministry after 25 years of service and while he prepared for United Church of Christ privilege of call he worked as a licensed Funeral Director, and a Hospice Chaplain. Pastor Scott says, "I was not so much leaving behind the church of my childhood as I was embracing a new form of congregational church practice in the UCC after having grown weary of moving about so much and longing to be able to plant some roots and watch them grow." He is an avid reader and is also hooked on CNN and C-SPAN.

Other interests include having been a professional radio announcer and DJ at a Southern Gospel radio station, an amateur magician, and a novice carpenter. He also just got a new pontoon boat and is trying to learn to fish. (hmm fishing and carpentry seem like pretty good Biblical endeavors to him!) Pastor Scott has been married to his wife, Lin (his high school sweetheart) since 1978 and they have three children.
